Half the HDMI cables on sale do not comply

HDMI-thiefAt a recent CEDIA conference held in Australia, Michael Shaller, a former executive with HDMI Licensing revealed that 50% of HDMI cables failed the mandetory compliance test.

“The biggest problem is that some cable companies are stealing a licence, then using poor components to manufacture a cable. The consumer does not necessarily know because the packaging carries an official compliance logo”.  He went on to say. “The end result is sub standard quality and performance for the end user. We have followed up several of these companies and what we have found is that they are not only using sub standard components but when challenged often disappear making it hard to track them down”.

Many cheap HDMI cables are assembled by hand in China using workers on low pay rates. The quality of an HDMI cable relies on the materials used and in particular the integrity of the soldering between the cable and connector. You just cannot get a high consistent quality of HDMI cable termination using manual means.

HDMI Systems factory is a fully automated facillity that uses state of the art equipment and acredited quality standards to ensure that every HDMI cable manufactuered meets the official HDMI licencing requirement. The HDMI Systems factory is an official HDMI adoptor.  In fact HDMI Systems tests every cable prior to release and includes a copy of the test report with every cable sold. This is why we can offer a lifetime warranty on all of our products.
